ABN Cleanroom Technology and POELS have long collaborated on innovative projects, including the development of the circular wall system HOSPIWALL for the hospital sector. The acquisition of POELS NV by ABN Cleanroom Technology further expands the construction expertise in cleanroom wall and ceiling systems.

Current CEO of POELS, David Saenen, will become a key shareholder, along with Gauthier Pauly, manager of POELS Labs and Michiel Tijtgat, manager of POELS West-Flanders. “This acquisition is a logical step in our growth ambitions. Not only do we strengthen our position in the market, but we also combine forces to offer innovative modular, circular and sustainable solutions that will set the standard in the cleanroom industry,” says Jo Nelissen.

With the acquisition of POELS, ABN Cleanroom Technology is focusing on a strategic partnership that is necessary due to the rapid growth both companies are currently experiencing. “Through this collaboration, we remain true to our vision of sustainability and circularity, while accelerating our ambition to become one of the top five cleanroom integrators in Europe,” added Rosaline Wijnen.

POELS achieved a turnover of 24 million euros in the past fiscal year, while ABN Cleanroom Technology recorded 16 million euros last year and is expected to close this year with a turnover of 22 million euros. 

“Thanks to this acquisition, we are taking POELS to the next level and ensure continuity for the future,” says David Saenen. 

With this acquisition and future growth ambitions, ABN Cleanroom Technology is taking a strong step toward its long-term goal: reaching a turnover of 100 million euros by 2028.

Jo and Rosaline, who brought ABN Klimatisatie into a buy-and-build structure with GIMV under the company name Fronnt —currently comprising 13 companies with a combined turnover of 133 million euros— two years ago, emphasize that the current acquisition of POELS is completely separate from this. Jo and Rosaline remain 100% shareholders of ABN Cleanroom Technology.

In the near future, more acquisitions are expected to support the rapid growth of ABN Cleanroom Technology and to consolidate its position in the cleanroom market.
